Caitlin Blackwood was born on the 23rd June, 2000 in Northern Ireland. At the age of six, Caitlin and her family moved to Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland, where they have lived ever since. Caitlin enjoys spending time with her family and friends in this beautiful part of the world, and is an active member in the local community, joining the Air Cadets (161 Squadron) in August 2013.

Caitlin has now, travelled the world, including one of her favourite destinations America, where she has made numerous appearances as Amelia Pond at conventions and events, getting the opportunity to talk with fans and making many friends along the way. Caitlin continues to pursue her career in acting and hopes to continue pleasing her fans with the new roles she is taking on.

It all started with her 'raggedy man'

At the age of nine, Caitlin was recommended for the role of the young Amelia Pond by her cousin Karen Gillan, even though the two had never met! Caitlin had to attend rigorous auditions before she was finally cast in the role of Amelia Pond, making history as the first Doctor Who companion to be introduced as a child to both the audience watching and the Doctor (Matt Smith). It was only after the young Amelia Pond appears on screen, that the audience got to see Karen Gillan's "Amy Pond". The rest as they say is history!

Paranormal Investigation Team Scotland

In 2014 at the age of thirteen, it was announced that Caitlin had been asked to guest star in the web series Cops and Monsters, set in an alternative future where Scotland had voted yes to independance. In the months that followed vampires, werewolves and zombies begin to come out of the shadows declaring their desire to join the human race.

With the PITS in place, peace and harmony exists between humanity, vampires, werewolves and zombies. The country is divided into zones, each with their own curfews and arrangements. Everybody mostly gets along but crimes still happen and some vampires and werewolves stray from the rules... The Cops and Monsters website

Journey Bound

A hilarious and insightful road trip adventure through the Highlands of Scotland

In 2014 Caitlin was also cast in Journey Bound, a film designed to reignite Scotland's long standing history of optimistic cinema, from classics such as Whiskey Galore and Local Hero. The film has a fantastic ensemble of iconic and well known actors portraying an array of fun and memorable characters helping to make Journey Bound a memorable viewing experience for years to come.

Journey Bound is a romcom road movie set in the highlands of Scotland. It is best described as "Local Hero meets Planes, Trains & Automobiles". It is a light-hearted, fun, family film for all to enjoy. It touts some of the best well known Scottish stars working in showbiz today. Ford Kiernan (Still Game), Clare Grogan (Gregory's Girl), Frazer Hines (Emmerdale), Cailtin Blackwood (Dr Who) and Sylvester McCoy (The Hobbit, Dr Who). It tells the story of a young career driven lawyer has to see the error in his ways as he chases the love of his life through the Highlands of Scotland in a hilarious and insightful road trip adventure.
